  • The mentoring concepts
Fundamentals –
  • Scope and evolution of implant dentistry
  • Bone biology, immunology, and wound healing
  • Bone density and periodontium
  • Pharmacology in implant dentistry
  • Implant-Bone: Biomaterials and biomechanics i.e. Osseointegration
  • Implant Prototypes and different systems
  • Implant practice set-up, Ethics, and liability

Module 2

Module Duration: 12 Hours

Patient Selection, Diagnosis, and Treatment Planning –

•Clinical examination and medical assessment
•Indications and contraindications for implant therapy
•The Flow chart in treatment planning
•Radiological assessment – periapical, OPG, CBCT scans
•Diagnostic and prosthetic planning
•Template preparation
•Implant planning: Number and type in various situations
– Single / Multiple teeth
– One stage / Two-stage
•Different prosthetic solutions
•Clinical cases discussions

  • Surgical operatory and patient sterilization protocol with Hands on
  • Anesthetic options – LA / GA / IV sedation
  • Flap design with Hands on
  • Suturing materials and suturing techniques with Hands on

Module Duration: 12 Hours

Basic Implant Placement (Surgical phase) –

•Preparation of implant site
•Principles of bone preparation technique: Drills and Osteotomy
•Implant placement in the posterior mandible
•Implant placement in anterior maxilla
•Implant placement in the posterior maxilla
•Implant placement in anterior mandible
•Delayed placement vs. immediate placement
•Immediate placement with or without immediate loading
•Implant in the aesthetic zone
•Submerged vs. non-submerged implants
•Second stage surgery (Implant exposure)
•Flap vs. flapless approach
•Post-operative care, complications, and management
•Clinical case discussions

Restorative Phase –

•Prosthodontic components: standard and custom
•Attachment systems
•Abutment selection
•Cement retained vs. screw-retained prosthesis
•Try-in and fit stage
•Provisional restorations
•Final prosthetic delivery
•Professional monitoring, home care, and hygiene
•Complications & Management
•Clinical case discussions
